now I do love the double but I feel like I should disclaim that it does strike me as a very straight (and cis) show. I believe it is about a heterosexual woman and various other probably heterosexual people. I can't even say xff's relationship with tong-er was in any way gay despite some stuff tong-er said at a certain memorable scene because their entire relationship was so strictly loyal-maid-and-benevolent-mistress in the most platonic sense. the only character I got gay vibes from was a woman who the show made sure to tell us has a massive crush on a man. she got over it later and I'm hoping she won't fall in love with her male bestie bc she's a lesbian to ME it's just I don't think the show agrees. she and xff could have had something at some point but their dynamic wasn't strong enough to support it longterm. sometimes that's how it is
#I just don't want to give ppl the wrong impression going in. it's about Men and Women#and you could play around w that for sure and find relationships thats always a noble calling but it's too strictly built for me to....#that transmisogynistic shot of the villain also really shot my expectations for anything positive#like. you just should know what to expect going in ig#and it's not trying to do anything subversive w gender or sexuality beyond 'women are people'#the double lb
